Camaro 350 project
ive got a 95 camaro with the stock 3.4, automatic. well i've put it through its paces and my baby is in need of a new engine. I really want to find a decent short block 350 to rebuild and i have no idea what tranny, preferably a standard, would go good with that. So i'm wondering if this is a feasible project to undertake, what kind of mods im looking at, what kind of a tranny i should be looking for to go with the 350.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
you cant put a 350 in a v6 shell unless you have a complete v8 donor car, this has been discussed on this forum 1000 times, it can be done but cost wise makes 0 sense, sell your shell and buy a v8 car, itll be less than half the cost. doing the swap, you will be able to keep about 5% of the v6 car, the other 95% will be swapped from the v8 car, makes no sense

Go over to the V6 section there is a Sticky there called V6 to V8 swap. Inside that thread I posted a link to one thread from member who has done it. I think once you read his thread your going to find it is not worth the work or the money. Putting a old school SBC in a V6 4th would be harder then putting a SBC in a 74 Mustang 2.
alright, thanks guys. youve been a big help. so a 350 is out of the question, I would get rid of my 6 shell but i have some wicked attachment issues. that being said does anyone have a suggestion on a good, powerful engine that will fit in the 6?
WAIT... what kind of 350? need to be way more specific... a 350 gen 1 smallblock? a 350 LT1? or a LS1??
you can do ANY of them... it depends how 'custom' you plan on going. if you want to use an LT1, and make the car seem factory, disregard what i said, and dont do dat.. its a lotta work.. but, if your going to chop cut rebuild, then do it up.. just make sure you know what your doing before u get ***** deep into da project and realize its a lot more difficult than u expected

Without major mods the only 3.4 is about the only game in town. If you really are attached to the car you could find a wrecked LT1 Z28 and swap everything over. You will need a doner car. If you check the V6-V8 swap thread there is a link in there for the list of parts you will have to swap. Your best of getting the same year Z28 as the V6
