A/C blues
1995 camaro, 3.4v6. Bought the car a few weeks ago and the a/c didn't work. Put a couple of pounds of r134a in it with dye. Never got all that cold, barely cool, then two days later back to not working at all. Bottom of the a/c compressor showed dye along the casing halves.
Went on rockauto and Bought and installed new ac compressor/dryer/expansion port/seal kit, had to reuse some seals since the ones in the kit were loose instead of tight like the factory ones. Used manifold gauge set and vacuum pump to draw down pressure below zero, shut off pump and after half an hour it still held a vacuum, gauges didn't seem to move. Filled 2lbs of r134a in again, purging the yellow line to keep air out of system. A/C blew cold for two days, didn't need it for the next four days as it had cooled off.
Today was another 90+ degree day, so tried the a/c. No luck, HOT air again. Frick a fruck'n A....
Hooked up the manifold gauges with the car off
130psi on both sides
started the car and turned on the a/c
12psi on the low pressure side and 145psi high side
shut off car and now without car running it was at 100psi on both sides.
Any idea ideas what happened? going to borrow a blacklight flashlight again to see if it leaked out anywhere. Very disappointing, I thought I had fixed it, but alas, still hot air....

Did you add add the oil as described in the instructions of the components you replaced? Adding the correct amount of oil is important to the life of the compressor but it also takes up space in the system. This would effect the amount of refrigerant needed. Also 12 PSI is way to low you need 30 ish. High side pressure does not mean much until the system starts cooling.
AC seal shrink. They get tight with age and that is a bad thing.
