Buying a 99 z28 what to look for??
Hey everyone new to the camaro, found a little used car dealer with a silver 99 z28 its an automatic and has 126,000 miles on it, anything to look for and watch out for, hes asking 5999 for it. Never had a car with that many miles but it looks really clean, any info will be much appreciated, thanks

Gotta search, I swear I just answered this same question last week....
10 bolt, 10 bolt, 10 bolt. I don't know how many times I have said it, but obviously not enough. They are POS rear ends. Listen for high pitched whine and loud clunking; do note that these rear ends re noisy any way, just listen for the extreme. Seeing as the car is an A4, the rear end can take a bit more abuse, but it can still blow all too easily.
The LS1 is reliable and strong, with the only real common issue being piston slap, which is almost expected.
The 4L60E is stout for what the LS1 puts out. If you plan on H/C in the future, a rebuild will more than likely be required.
Exterior wise, look for paint bubble on the sail panel. This is a common area on fbodies for paint to bubble as the adhesive used on the fiberglass was really no good.
The price seems a bit high, but fair nonetheless. A 2001-02 would be more preferable as there were some good changes made (such as LS6 intake and no EGR). What other options does this Z have? Monsoon stereo, power access, leather, t-tops?

Cloth seats but it does have the t-tops, looks like something is leaking out of the front emblem, almost like the adhesive melted and dribbled down the front, wouldt rub off either, ill try to post the craigslist link, cash price is 4999 bucks if you finance it it's 5999

Would have done the carfax but its 35 bucks for 1 car check, also teres another car for sale but a little outta my price range right now
2002 Chevrolet Camaro T-Tops
I guess it come down to i have never owned a car with that many miles, dont want to constantly have to fix things on it, also how are the t-tops are they notorious for leaking, looks like it has a small oil drip under it from the motor, oil pan looks wet, rear end looks nice and dry
