2k sounds like a head gasket job, its not the parts that are expensive its the labor, id take 450 if your not capable of doing it your self

$450 is a little steep, but around that price is decent. Figure that most shops charge anywhere from $50-$90/hr for labor and it does take several hours depending on how familiar you are with the car.

Intake gasket blow out? Never even seen one blow out unless it's FI, it's only under engine vacuum. Are you sure you are not pricing a head gasket blowout? Intake gasket is not that hard to do yourself if you are even slightly mechanically inclined.

Just because you happen to be from Mexico doesn't give you the right to use racial slurs, not everyone knows that you're from Mexico and thus it can be taken in the wrong way from an outside viewer, so if we could make it a bit more PC that would be great...

That being said, if it's actually an intake manifold gasket I would say most shops would probably charge you for 4 hours of labor. Assuming $100 an hour, you're looking at around $400 plus $50 for the actual gaskets themselves and the RTV. Seems pretty legit to me. If you can't do it yourself just keep shopping around until you find a good shop with a good price.
