If you have the budget this is a good time to install headers. It is a huge PITA once the mootor is in. Its a fun 20 min project with the motor out. Assuming your droping the motor out the bottom. Your 97 will respond well to headers the factory cast manifolds are crap. In later years even the factory got rid of them for a more header like design.

They are talking about this tube. The shinny metal would be where the water pump mounts and to the left is the belt tensioner. Do Not reuse this elbow
