Any 1 Drive their Camaro in the winter???
I always had a beater for the winter. I used to live in upstate NY (Orange County) and it definitely didn't handle all tooo well in the snow. Wasn't worth the chance of wrecking it.
i'd stud your tires if i were you. i never had a problem with mine, but like i said, had bout 100pounds of a stereo where my Ttops shoulda went. i took stock hub capped rims, put a nice aggressive, snow tire on em, skinny too, and studd em.
I had a 1989 camaro and burnt the tires off during the summer so i figured that i only needed 2 tires so put on some bridgestone blizaak tires on and you would not believe how good it did, i was amazed, its not 4X4 thats for sure but a huge improvement, now the 2000 WS6 goes into storage before the temp hits 50 and the duramax is the only vehicle in the driveway
I ran with some super-crappy tires (Futura brand anyone?) last year and only had a couple of problems. I put a couple of tractor weights in the back and it helped a lot.
Now I've got a sub box back there, I can probably go w/o the weights
I'll be buying new tires when it starts getting nasty out, that should help a lot.

I grew up in New England, and I have taken these type of cars through a winter, and while it is do-able, I really would NOT recommend it. Not only will your car be difficult to control, andmany times undriveable depending on the conditions; it is the worst thing you coulddo to your car. All of the sand and road salt promotes corrosion exponentially to all the components underneath the car, the body panels, brake lines, etc. Additionally, there is just the addedwear and tear from being driven through difficult conditions (possibly getting stuck in snow etc)- All i can say is that I have seen people go into a winter with a nicecar, and comespring time it is not the same car. I have seen it personally many times. After evena few winters in a row I have seen many cars reduced to beaters, that were nice cars. What I'm trying to say with all this is that winter in certain places can be really really hard on a car- to the point where eliminatingthe wear and tear on your car will be worth getting a winter beater. For your car's sake.
