97 camaro put up for the winter
Well I had a few concerns about putting my camaro up for the winter. I am using a battery maintainer instead of taking the battery out of the car. It stays plugged to the car on what they call a float mode.Any comments on this. I also put my car up on jackstands and i see that there is what looks like a hard plastic pad in the front for my stands - however in the back where is the best places to put them.

When storing the car on stands, you want it supported from the suspension, not the frame/body. So, you won't be using those front jack pads anyway.
Put the jack stands under the rear axle tubes, and under the front control arms.

A short while won't hurt it. When you jack up the car by the body, all the suspension components extend out. That leaves things like the shaft of the shocks exposed in a spot where they normally wouldn't be. If those then rust, you can wind up with some leaky shocks.
By the suspension is also a good idea because that's the way the car supports itself naturally. Hanging the car on it's frame can leave yourself open to any possible body "tweaks".
