Storing my Camaro for the winter...
So like the title says I am garaging my Camaro for the winter. I've never stored a car this new, so what needs to be done to avoid having problems when I bring it back out in the spring? Aside from the obvious stuff.. I already know to fill it with gas and use stabilizer...and disconnect the battery. What else?
i know many store it, but i dont recomend it, but if you can keep it so you can start it up and take it around the block a few times i think that would be healthier for the car... if not then stabilizer, disc, battery, and put a light bulb under the hood to keep things warm
If you don't run it on a regular basis over the storage time, get a trickle charger for the battery -- batteries don't like to sit idle in the cold. Best to bring the battery into a place that is heated as well.
I will be able to go and start it up on a regular basis, but not really drive it because I am dropping the insurance until spring. I'm going to take the money I would be wasting on insurance and instead put it into the car.. suspension, etc. It would be wrong not to store it IMO, it's a rust-free southern car. Gotta keep it that way.
I have never stored one but some people say to place plastic bags or rubber gloves with rubber bands around the tips of the exhaust to keep critters from getting in there and living. Of course, I guess that all depends on where you are storing it.
