Default Antifreeze leak....3.4L

So when i was just getting ready to do my dash swap, antifreeze started pouring all over the place and overheating , So now to my next question. I thought it was a freeze plug. it is leaking on the drivers side, right up behind the oil filter somewhere. i cant really see exactly where its coming from but i know there is a freeze plug there. One of my friends said he had the same problem but it was his intake manifold? ive never heard of this leaking antifreeze, so that is my question. More likely to be a freeze plug or intake? its not smoking (besides when the antifreeze hits the exhaust). Whats a way i can tell the difference, before i tear into the engine to change manifold just to find out its a freeze plug.

Mine had a similar problem, it turned out to be the Timing Chain Cover Gasket. It started with a small leak on the Passenger side and then started leaking near the filter as well.

soft plugs are in the center on the sides, looks to me like its the intake, front/timing cover or a head gasket. from the sounds of it what jordan is saying is most likely what your problem is, the front cover gasket.

well let me rephrase my post. The leak is behind the oil filter but BY the freeze plug. when i have someone pour water in the radiator, and put my hand up on the freeze plug it feels like thats where its leaking, but i just cant tell if thats exactly where its coming from or if its just leaking down the block and then hitting my hand.

ahh ok well then your gona have to pull that exhaust manifold either way, dont see it being the intake so that leaves head gasket or soft plug. well could be cracked block or head to but i dont recall you saying it was overheated or frozen.
