I'm looking to replace the stock filter and lid in my '01 V6. Any suggestions? Also would there be any gains or would there at least be a difference in sound?

 

the 01 has a pretty good air intake stock. you can go with something like the slp air intake. you wont have gains like the older air intakes but will have some. your best add on for hp would be high flow cat back exhaust and headers.

 

Would this be the same for a 99?

 

yes. you can modify the intake and gain as well.

 

98-02: SLP Blackwing filter, SLP CAI, Whisper Motorsports airlid (if u can find one). That is one of the best setups for V6 NA induction.
