Default Advice for newbie

hey guys, i'm a solider currenly serving i iraq. Shortly before deploying my 2008 mustang saleen was stolen from my apt parking lot I've never really owned a bowtie but it just so happened i found a parked 95 v6 for sale for 200 dollars. So in the need for speed again, i sank my teeth in. Now, of course the v6 is getting thrown out. But my question to you seasoned chevy vets is..what should take it's place and what sorta issues/cash should i be expecting? So far it seems to be that the 383 is the fan fav. I appr. any help guys.

Hey Welcome Soldier and Thank you for your service.

427? you want him to put a big block in it? are you crazy?

i'm going to have to agree with craby here...its going to be a pretty expensive swap since its not just the motor you will have to swap

Well, i plan on spending between 10-15k for the overhaul for tranny/motor so wouldn't a decent 383 swap be well within that range? And the body/chassis only has one pretty good size dent above the gas tank.

if there isnt a sticky on this there ought to be. the v6 framework, mounts, supports, trany, rearend and electronics are different than the v8.

Yes,
But if you find a Z28 that need a head gasket and a front clip you could get the car for next to nothing.
