If you had a dead short it would just fry your fuse.

Do you mean you are not getting power to the compressor?

You know the Relay power on the compressor but the power flows through 2 saftey switchs. The low pressure switch will not allow power through it if the system pressures are too low and a high pressure switch,,, ya you guessed it.

These switchs are there to protect your compressor. No pressure in the system means no oil flow which means the compressor life in measured in seconds. With high pressure you could have liquid in the compressor in which case you will not have a second before it blows apart. Are you trying to cycle a compressor without anything in it?
