Default AC Freon leak

I have a freon leak that i cant find. I recharged my ac and in about 3 days it was gone. I went out and bought some uv leak detector. Charged my ac again and added the detector. Hasnt leaked yet as i can tell. I drove it about 20 miles and dont see any leaks. Im using a blacklight and still cant see any leaks. My car is a 1996 3.8 and was wondering if there where any common leaks in these cars or any info you guys might have.

Bump for an older thread... but does anyone know any tips to get at the bolt holding the lines to the back of the compressor? (3.8 V6 particularly)

if it was the evap you should be able to smell it and might burn your eyes a bit when the ac is running from it leaking. try to look around the compresor and look for oil spots. if ya still cant find anything id take it to a good shop and have them check with a leak tester.

Any decent shop can put in some dye and find the leak for you. It may cost $100 bucks or so, but it is better than throwing parts at it hoping you get the right one.

I didn't have very good luck with store bought dye years ago. I don't know if I just didn't have the right light or what, but I could not get it to flouresce. But the dye that my local shop uses lights up like a green monster with their light. Plan as day to see that my compressor is leaking like a sieve.
