99 3.8L run's but won't accelerate.
I'm trying to see if i can help my buddy out by using this site.
He recently bought a 99 convertible 3.8L
The car will start right up, but he cant move it anywehre because it doesnt accelerate.
THe Reduced Power Light, comes on and a fuel pump error comes on.
His fuel pump is new, he says.
Any ideas??
He can push the gas pedal and nothing at all happens.

When you say new, did it ever work? Fuel pressure test would help in figuring it out.
There are 3 things that commonly cause good idle and no power.
Fuel pressure low
Exhaust restriction (Cat plugged)
Timing chain jumped a tooth.
FYI: On my project 96 3800 I put 3 fuel pumps in a month due to defects, new does not equal good all the time.
