98-2000 Trans AM WS6 Vs. 98-2000 Camaro Z28
went shopping around for a car last night and have a very hard choice.....I LOVE camaros But the WS6 are very very nice cars that i have also liked but thought they were too expensive. Does any of you guys know how reliable these cars are or what because they are basically the same just different body style. Give me some input about the WS6 and let me know which one is better. THANKS

I'd say just go for the one you like the looks of best. I like the interior of the Camaro better, but man those WS6's look mean. In my search for an LS1 itseems to me the WS6's cost more than an SS of the same year, most of the time. That may not be the norm but that's what I've come across around here. Most races I've seen between a WS6 and an SS/Z28 usually the SS/Z28edges out the WS6, but I'm talking by a foot or two, so the difference if any is very minimal, probably just chalk it up to driver skill. The LS1 is a dependable engine and car overall, but like anything you run it hard things will break. They will run easily for 100,000+ miles if taken care of.

I just bought a 2001 WS6 and all I can say is wow. For me my WS6 is a dream finally realized. I've always like the looks of a Trans Am over a Camaro but always wanted the Chevy 350 performance and reliability, now I have both. I don't know what type of prices you're looking at for the Camaro SS's but I bought my WS6 for 16500. It is nearly flawless inside and out and had 47000 miles on it. As for the performance issue, I came across an SS earlier this week that had at least a modified exhaust and stomped a decent mudhole in his ***. Keeping in mind that I bought my T/A with modified exhaust from the headers back and a mass air flow sensor. The SS I ran against was an automatic and mine is a 6 speed, my first manual which I've only been driving for about 5 days now, no previous experience. I figure that had I actually known what I was doing I probably could've added another car length between us.

with the trans ams you are paying for a slightly upgraded interior. they have the vette seats, slightly different gauges, usually in leather (if not always). little things. Different dash... i cant think of everything ff the top of my head

depends on what u want. The TA is generally accepted to be the more comfortable ride. It was equipped with more creature comforts. as a result its heavier. so its speed vs. the illusion of quality
