Does it turn completely off or is it just the screen that goes out? I have seen displays go out on the radios but the sound is still coming through the speakers and on the ones I seen, it was the dimmer switch for the dash lights that was causing the issue. If it is loosing all power, I would start by looking at the fuses and wiring that powers the radio for loose connections.

Is it the original radio or an aftermarket one?
