Default 96 ss Camaro rod knock or exhaust leak

My Camaro just started to make this ticking noise at a few weeks back, not sure if it’s rod knock or an exhaust leak it gets better as my car warms up but never goes away.
whats the best way for me to figure this out.

Try tightening the manifold bolts. If all tight, use a something to view live data and look over the oxygen sensor stats. An exhaust leak before or directly after the sensor will show it reading lean.

You can use a big screwdriver and with ear to the handle, touch it to any area you think the noise is coming from and move it till the noise it fairly audible through the screwdriver.

You sure it's not a noisy lifter? LT1's are known for that.

Your best bet is to find a mechanic who has been a mechanic awhile. I have hand people try to explain a noise to me for half hour on the phone and I knew what was before the car came to a stop in the parking lot.

The only noise that can be tuff to identify is connecting rod bearing vs wrist pin.
