Default rod knock??

ok so my car decided that it was going to start running very hot all of the sudden and almost overheat. so i stopped at my friends house to check it out. we found out that the coolant system just had air in it so we bled the air out and refilled the coolant. Ok so now when the car first starts the oil pressure runs a little high, around 60-70 psi until the car heats up to about operating temp, about 180 degrees which is also when the thermostat kicks on. the thermostat is brand new. also, until that 180 degree mark it makes a loud clicking noise which gets quieter as the engine heats up and it dissapears at the 180 degree mark. what would cause this??

Probably a bad valve lifter. A bearing rap would not go awayonce the enginegot warmed up. It probably would get worse as the heat causes the oil to thin out.
