is this possible, im doing a lt1 swap and i heard i needed the instrument panel

Get the gauges from the same year. Gauges 97+ won't work, as they won't fit.

The v6 tachometer won't read accurately when hooked up to the v8. I believe you can change the resistor in the tach, but it might be easier in the long run to replace the whole tach with one from a v8 car.
