Sounds like IAC valve to me. I have them in stock, $89.41.
Thanks

You're welcome, and good luck with it.
I'm in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, kinda halfway between Chicago and Rockford.

yeah just got home with it, it runs a little rough when you push on the gas theres not much power (like out of time,or not firing on all cylinder's) i looked at the butterfly on the intake while it was idling and it was completely closed. im gonna have a buddy come and scan it tommorow, also occasionally while giving it gas it would "backfire" from the engine compartment, ill post the codes he pulls tommorow, and/or what it was/is when i fix it

i set the proper minum idle this way. first you will need to put the car into diognostic mode. on mine you would do a trouble code scann. once in diognostic mode the iac will close all the way. unplug the iac, this will hold the iac in the closed position. start car and set the idle between 4 and 500 rpms. once done turn off and plug iac back in. takes a while to relearn if you changed settings.

Did you say Backfireing through the throttle body ?? Thats another problem with timing. Also could have dammaged several things causing a leak and higher idle too. Did the previous owner try to adjust the valves ? Probably dont need this but keep it for ref

i had the codes pulled and no current codes but, there was a IAC and speed sensor code. i replaced the IAC, plugs, wires and it runs ALOT better but still doesnt feel 100% and the original color was black (they didnt paint the door jams or under hood, so itll be alot easier getting it back to original color, i dont know why someone would want a white car over a black car

Glad to hear its running better, keep after it, proly had multi things to fix, may want to clean the throttle body around the butterfly too. Get some B12 carb and injector cleaner and run it through in a full tank of gas, will clean it out better than anything else you can buy. It comes in a metal can, very strong stuff !!

also replaced the coolant temp sensor (i noticed the whole top was broke clean off somehow?) after doing that the "service engine soon" light went out but still comes on intermitently sometimes a few seconds sometimes 10-20 minutes.... also idles high still 12-1500 rpm and i tried the whole let idle in drive with ebrake then in park and didnt work.... and it feels kind of sluggish or rough like wrong air fuel mixture....?
the guy who scanned it would not start the car he would only "pull codes" i asked if he would start it and check things but he said he couldnt...
he was using a snap on scanner about 14" x 8" maybe, but it was high tech and used a bunch of different chips to plug in at obd port, anybody familiar, i dont see why it wouldnt...

The IAC and the TP sensor are both mounted on the throttle body. In fact they're mounted on the same side and they're right next to each other. they are separate components, though, and the TP sensor shouldn't affect idle speed.

BTW, how high is high? I've just been asking for info becasue my new-to-me 94 idles around 900 RPM. That is quite high compared to stuff I've been driving for years but I can't find a published spec for the 3.4 idle speed. Othr owners say that 900 is normal.

its at about 12-1500rpm, it revs up smoothER when in neutral/park but when driving its almost like a "knocking" OR "chugging" when accelerating and low power (noticable power loss compared to my old camaRO)
