Default '388' 350 block

Can anyone tell me what the '388' 350 block is and what it means...
I don't mean a bored out 350.. I mean a '388' from the factory .
It has been said that there were only 4 made!
Please explain in detail what this is and how to look for it.
Thanks
ps. this is for a 1969 350 RS/SS just purchased and is supposed to have this option!
