he drags much and it won't be long before he has no choice but to upgrade the whole rear end! 6 speeds+launching=broken 10 bolt

the car is a 96 speed the mods i posted earlier in the thread are what i know is done i dont know for sure what gears are in the rear im just going by the factory codes. it also has a partial cage inside it and a full exhaust including headers and corvette z06 wheels with 315/40/17 tires on the rear and the fronts are 275 wide i think that may be a a little too wide for the front. i dont know if the computer was tuned or not for sure the car really smells like it runs rich. supposedly there are some sort of ford injectors in it that are big but i havent pulled them to see what size they are.

If I were in your shoes, this is what I would do:
Get it on a dyno, and AT LEAST have the A:F ratio monitored, to make sure everything is squared away. Especially if it smells really rich. Then, do your best to make sure everything was put together/matched well (as in blower cam matched to the blower/boost).

And finally, realize that when you take an lt1, build it, and put on a supercharger, you're making so much torque that shorter gears are not only not necessary, but will often times actually hurt overall performance. If I've picked up one thing from all the blown mustangs on mustangforums, it's that unlike nitrous/turbos, mixing the torque of a supercharger with the shortening effects of shorter gears is almost never a good idea.

For supercharged applications, 3.55, or 3.6 gears are what you should be looking for.

thanks for the replies i the cam spec plate on the rad support matches a cam set up for supercharging with lower boost which is all i am interested in until i am sure what internals and compression ive got. and i think i will stick with the gears i have for a while and see how they hold up.
