3.4 running rich
ive i read some ideas on google but couldnt find the answer ive put pacesetter header morso air kit it has a smelly exhust it uses alot more gas than normal. ive been trying figure why ivebeen gettin bad gas milage cuz ive been filling it up every couple days. ive got new plugs and wires. ive been having egr problems. been trying many solutions to why im getting bad gas milage its maybe 16 mpg. what is the possible problems when running rich.

is the smog pump easy to change and my headers do have hookups .Oh yea my rocker arms are goin bad to can i put some gold performance rocket arms in the stock engine the outside engines not stock but if i do gettem will i have to do anything else with the engine i dont want to put performance rocker arms if i have to do some basic mods inside the engine

how long ago did you do your headers? did you remove any emiision equipment? if so your computer might still be relearning. when i did headers and removed all my emissions equipment my car ran really rich for a couple weeks and actually shot flames when i revved it up.

Get an OBD1 scanner (not a code reader) and look at the O2 sensors, the sensors will indicate if the mixture is rich or not. However; the usual causes are bad spark plugs, bad ignition wires, dirty air cleaner, bad O2 sensors, and possibly, a bad fuel pressure regulator.
Definitely take care of the EGR problem, and take care of any other codes that the scanner may show.

ive got new spark plugs and wires o2sensers performance air kit. if i keep driving with a bad egr valve will i be wastin money on new parts due to the bad egr valve or r should i jus get a new egr valve if i do would i have to get any other parts to keep the new egrfrom goin bad
