285 on a stock rim???

would I be able to fit a 285mm tire on a stock 2000 z28 rim,,,I believe the stock rim is 16 by 8,,,,and currently I have 245mm/50zr/16 on there,,,

Yes, Ive had 295's on my stock rims, but that was pushing it, even that called for a 10 inch rim. But they will work.
