Default 2000 SS cranks awhile before starting

Just recently got a 2000 SS 6mt convertible 88k miles. This morning it cranked and cranked and cranked before finally starting. Stopped at gas station and it fired right back up, but then leaving work 10 hours later it did the same thing crank... crank... crank... then fire. I'm thinking it is fuel related like it isn't getting any fuel pressure?? I'm a nOOb when it comes to the modern electronics of the LS1 motor, so any help is greatly appreciated guys.

Try testing your fuel pressure. You can hook up a tester to fuel pressure valve towards the back (at least thats where it is on an lt1).

Sounds like the fuel pressure is not holding after the engine is turned off. Try priming the system by turning the key On & Off several times before actually attempting to start. If then starts OK, then it is a good sign that the pressure is not holding. Could be a bad pump, bad pressure regulator, or even an external fuel leak.

I kind of have the opposite problem, well not really problem, but I always let my fuel pump run til the radio turns on and my car usually starts after like half a crank as opposed to the usual 2ish for most cars
