Recently my windshield wipers do not go back down when I turn them off. This mostly happens when I push the "mist" button and normally it would spray wiper fluid and wipe back and forth 2 times. Now it will wipe 3 times and stay in the upwards position even when I turn the wipers off. Its not until I mess with the higher wiper settings it will go back to the resting normal position. Please help thank you!

 

sounds like the circuits in the wiper motor are going bad. not an unusual problem on the 4th gens

they used to sell the circuit board separate but dont know if they still do, I just replaced the whole thing. not easy getting hands in that small space.
