I did the same swap in my 94. It is only a fair weather car. You can use alot of the same stuff from the maro like fuel pump (need a regulatorto turn fuel pres. down), coolant fan, raidiator, get a one piece driveshaft from ebay. You will ne to trim the water trofe to fit an air cleaner and by doing that the waiper arm will nee to be removed and nonfunctional wipers. You can geta tubular k-member from BMR Fabrication to do the swap and it is all bolt on parts. I went with a TH350 tans with a manual valve body. If you have any questionsabout the swap I have the answers.

How does putting a carbbed engine in a body style thats supposed to be fuel injected change your emissions and all that? I know that they test by the year not by the engine? I heard somewhere its illegal for street use to swap out an f/i for a carbbed engine in late models.

Just keep in mind the extra fuel consumption since the engine is bigger plus carburated is less fuel efficient. Other things to look at are things you seem to have already checked out such as the power strain on the drivetrain. It's always the little things such as engine lift and stuff like that which will eat up much of your time if you arent careful.

Does the 350 come with all the wiring and stuff? Obviously the v6 wiring won't cut it.

I also would go with the t56 for the improved gas mileage. It wontyield the same mileage as the v6 but it will at least help compensate for some. You are already going to have your car out of comission for a while as it is, why not go all out? You will have to put that other tranny in as it is and since you will be doing the same work, mindas well put the effort into something that will give a little better mileage and top end.

You will need to find an aftermarket one or make it. The cross member is the easy part. What are you going to do about the torque arm? The Th350's never had a torque arm that I am aware of but the 4th gen rear suspention is going to need it. Also your going to lose a lot of pull out of the hole. The th350 1st gear is taller then your stock tranny.
