Default MAF Problem

Ran codes on my 95 camaro 3.8L V6 and found an error for the MAF, I cleaned the sensor with MAF cleaner.... but still an error. Any idea? It still runs fine, just putting the engine light on and puttn the car in limp mode. any suggestions?

I think that should be bank 1 sensor 3 and it would be the one after the cat. From what I have read about o2 sensors, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that the number 1 cylinder is located. V6 only has 3 sensors, one on each exhaust manifold and one after the cat.

If the scanner shows a MAF error, changing O2 sensors won't fix the MAF. What code are you getting?

Wow, it's time to sign off and go to bed. I could have sworn this post was about an O2 sensor just seconds ago! LOL.

The OP edited his question, probably the same time as when you were writing.

ya. i got two errors, one about the MAF and one about the o2 sensor... and it turns out there are 4 o2 sensors on my engine. I am actually beginning to think this is an 96 engine or something. and ya, sorry about the whole change of topic here... not really sure about that. but anyways.... I tried to trace the wiring diagrams... and i traced it to the one right before the cat.... but my mechanic says it is the post cat sensor.

and the codes were like P0102 and P0174... not sure about the 2nd one. i didnt write them down. but all i remember is that it talked about bank 3 sensor 1.

if its showing po codes its a obd2 system, 95 was a transition yr so some of the cars made late in the yr have the same ecu setup as a 96. most 95s have a obd1 ecu with a obd2 plug.

Thank you so much... this is has been driving me crazy finding parts for a 95 but finding that i need one for a 96... and that also explains why advanced auto was able to read my codes. they said they cant read OBD1 and yet we still got codes. sweetness....
