'02 Dash Cracking?
I've been hearing around on the forums, people have problems with dashes cracking. I have a '02 V6 that I love dearly and I don't want this to happen to mine. Is this really a problem with the 98's - 02's, if so I'm gonna find something to cover my dash.

I've got a '96, and the dash is majorly messed up... The original owner kept his in the garage, and over the years it developed a few small cracks. Then my brother-in-law bought it, and I from him. Since he and I both have to park outside (no garage), it's gotten way worse.
I'm not saying that this problem completely goes away when you park in a garage, but I think that parking it in the sun has a big impact on this problem. I'm thinking of replacing my dash, but I decided to wait until I have a garage to park in before I do that.

So is there anything I should invest in to cover my dash? I have to park outside and my car is black and constantly in the sun. I'm thinking just get like a bright white sheet or something. Any Suggestions?

the guy i bought it from had a dash mat on it (probably since he bought it in 95) and i have 0 cracks or discoloration. i also live in vegas so over 100 degrees in summer and in the winter freezing temps. (yes it freezes in vegas lol)
buy a mat that is made for your car
look on ebay or even go to your local car tint, alarm, ect. place because they usually have some type of display advertising them.

My car has not a single crack and doesn't have a dash mat... Trick is... Do not use Armor-All on your dash Use Meguiar's. Also park it in the shade if possible.
As you have noticed, it's mainly the 93-97 cars. The 98-02 cars don't have as bad of a problem with dash cracking as long as you take care of them. My red car gets parked in 100* sun on a daily basis and it doesn't have a single crack. The problem was mainly in the hard plastic dashes from 93-97
