'01 Z28 6-speed, rattle in right rear
I cannot figure this out. It sounds like a suspension component has lost a bushing (a sound I have heard a few times), but everything is fine.
The noise is clearly from the right rear, and in fact I've seen several other people complain about the same problem. So far I have eliminated the following possible causes:the spare tire and jack, the hatch, broken/loose shocks and mounts, bad control arm bushings, loose caliper, loose wheel, tranny mount, and u-joints.
The right rear wheel has no play to speak of, and there are no indications of wheel bearing failure, but I still suspect this to be some sort of rear end issue. I noticed that driveline can rotate a few degrees with the parking brake set. I know there is always play, but this is more then I have seen before. I can move the outer edge of the u-joit almost 1/4".
There is a TSB for this: Suspension : rear TSB (10/01/2001), but I haven't found anyone that can access it. I have stumbled across people who say the differentials rattle around inside the pumpkin, but none were credible sources.
Anyone dealt with this issue before?

Yo i have this problem too and i always that it was the jack and tools but i found out my antenna was loose and it was just squeekin like a mother. you could try tightening that. good luck
got the same problem in my brothers 01 s28 G2. thought it was bearing in the clutch or something but just a guess. maybe it was just meant to be. i havent noticed it interfering with anything so im not gonna mess with it for now.
