ok well my friend and i bought a 1995 3.4 camaro had a blown head gasket but it did run when we got it so we tore everything down and now it is back together but it idles at 2000rpms when you start it then works it way up to 3000 it idled fine with the blown head gasket so is there something that may be wrong? please help me

Is the SES light lit? Are all the sensors plugged in and functioning correctly? What else changed when you replaced the head gasket? Have you checked the throttle position sensor? Did you get the throttle cable reattached correctly? We need a little more info here...

 

Look for a massive vaccum leak i.e. brake booster hose, pcv, any intake coupling. Listen for the sucking sound.
