not damaging when used correctly, it can be, but i would rather have awell setup100 shot of nitrous on my car than any other forced induction.

Something to think about is that if you have not bought and installed the engine yet the additional cost for a stroker is quite small (couple of hundred if you shop around). A stroker adds torque at the low end and Hp at the top - no replacement for displacement. 383s and 402s are pretty inexpensive and product about 10% more than 346s and 366s right out of the box.
NOS is fine: its inexpensive and low-hassle for the HP you get (we use a lot in our Camaro but it still does easy 11.2s NA). But I prefer HP that you don't keep in a bottle: mine always seems to run out of juice when I need it.
