whats the simplest way to achieve 400 horses and torque from an LS1?
I wanted to buy a V6 and swap the engine for an LS2 and upgrade suspention and tranny. But I hear its easier to buy a Z28 and upgrade the LS1. Any other comments or suggestions?

I'll just go with the Z28/SS with the LS1 if you want 400 hp just buy that car and get the LS6 conversion kit. Depending on what year LS1 you get the kit will come with heads, cam, and intake. Basically the kit makes your LS1 a LS6 thats in the corvette Z06 so about 405hp and I don't know about the tourqe but you can look it up.

Thanks fellas for all the replies. I guess I want to beef up some internals and other parts you guys mentioned to get more power. I never considered NOS. I always figured Id go with a Turbo. IS nos easy to deal with?

nitrous is by far the best bang for the buck mod
you can get a very safe setup for under a grand easily, and have no trouble installing a kit yourself
