starter problems
my 87 camaro has had troubles starting in the past month. ive only had it for like 2 months.
But recently its been were my starter cranks it doesnt turn over. i crank it few more times and it turns over and i have to rev it to get it running good.
im no mechanic. so i dont know what this is. It makes a crankin noise.
should i just buy a new starter or what else should i check

If its cranking, it isn't the starter or alternator.
Sounds like a fuel or spark issue.
Step one is to clean the battery terminals and then make sure they're tight.
Dump some fuel system cleaner in the tank (I usually add two bottles for something like this)
The next logical place to start would be a basic tune-up (depending on whether any / all of these have been changed lately) change:
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Plug Wires (if you're a novice mechanic and do this yourself, ensure you only replace one wire at a time.)
Distributor Cap (ditto the above if you change the cap. transfer one wire at a time to avoid confusion, note where the #1 wire is and work clockwise from there)
Distibutor
Rotor
Hope that helps a bit.
Good Luck, let us know how it goes.

is it fuel injected or carbed? if it is f.i. it could be a weak fuel pump, if carbed it could be your choke or just the carb itself. do you pump it before you start it? or just try turning it over?

now im having different problems.
It starts but wants to die and it boggs down and backfires a little bit when i rev it. but it dies if you dont rev it.
ive replaced Rotor. Distributor, Distributor cap. but im stumped to why its running like this...
