starter problems.
my 87 camaro iroc z 305 tpi has had troubles starting in the past month. ive only had it for like 2 months.
But recently its been were my starter cranks it doesnt turn over. i crank it few more times and it turns over and i have to rev it to get it running good.
im no mechanic. so i dont know what this is. It makes a crankin noise.
should i just buy a new starter or what else should i check

so im prolly gonna need to replace the spark plugs. is this hard to do cause it looks like the spark plugs are hard to reach on the 305 is it easy if i put it on a lift and do it from underneath or easier from under the hood?
some you can get from the bottom, some you can get from the top.just because you may not be getting spark, doesnt mean its the spark plugs.it could be your spark plug wires or even distributor. But when you pull the spark plugs out, take a look at them, they may or may not be bad.
If its cranking, and hitting the flywheel sometimes, it sounds like a bad solenoid, the solenoid is the thingy on the starter that moves the pinion forward to connect with the flywheel, therefore if this isent engaging, its not moving your engine components and starting the car. get a new starter.. i recommend BOSCH, for a third gen.
