If you get ridd of the smog pump can you also remove the air tubes on the exaust manifolds. The reason being I would like to install a set of hooker long tubes on my 305 tpi. I bought a set of 1 3/4" super comps for a hard top iroc and lost interest in it when I found my conv. I need to use them will they help or hurt the 305 being as big tube as they are . I know that I will lose some bottom end with the big tubes but hopefully I will make it up one the upper rpm range.I also plan on updateing later to a 350.
