Setting IAC Question

Default Setting IAC Question
I've gone through the steps to set the IAC but I'm having trouble getting to engine to keep idling so I can set the throttle adjust screw without the iac plugged in. Should I keep moving the screw out? Seems to be out kind of far.

I am assuming you have a high idle?
