runs rich/always gas smell
Alright, finally found a decent camaro and have a few problems. (cars a 1986 Z28 IRCO-Z 305TPI)
biggest problem is the car runs really rich. it starts fine (most of the time) and immediatly dies, strong gas smell, starts right up again and runs fine. idles great and drives great. but when its not running and just sitting you can still smell gas (whether it be when you just turn it off or 24 hours later). checked the lines from the tank to the engine and can't find a leak. pulled the air intake off and its dry.
basically need a place to start. bad valve somewhere? also have faulty oil pressure and temp guage at the moment if it could be related in any way. (i believe the temp guage itself is bad and a faulty oil pressure sending unit for the oil pressure guage)
Lastly, it smokes a tad when i start it. Bad valve seals? i have been told they have updated seals, and the originals are o-ring like instead of the "umbrella" type.

it could be a number of things. but if i were you i would start out my checking the TPS sensor and MAP sensor. if you've messed with them they need to be readjusted everytime. along with one other sensor but i cant remember which one. if you messed with any of them they always have to be readjusted.
i got it fixed. it was the O-ring in the connection on the rear driver side fuel rail that goes to the "cold start valve".
was a pain to find it as noone sells the entire assembly or just an O-ring of the correct size.
