My car isnt starting easy. It cranks slow then dies down makes a noise like it skips something.. Any suggestions?

 

is the

"makes a noise like t skis something" more like a grinding noise?

If so, then it's a tooth on the flexplate

as for slwo cranking, it's probably the battery but could well be the starter

it never hurts to replace the cable to the starter either since you'll be down there

 

Is your car carbureted? Check your CCA (Cold Crank Amp) rating and if it is cold outside aswell. Im not sure of your mechanical background, but go with easiest first!
