It might look neat. I have never seen this though. Can your work sheet metal, weld? I just compared the two, There wouldnt be much work. Some 'messaging' of the hood, otherwise it should just bolt on.

It should all bolt right up,may need some work on the bumper, but the fenders and hood are all the same from 70 to 81.

It might look wierd if you don't find a set of tail lights from an earlier 2nd gen too. Try to find some from a similar year to the front end donor car. And the hood should fit both.

The front subframes are shorter on the 70 than the 78. Yeah the rear tail lights won't match up either.

So it would be alot of work to put a front and back bumper on a 80? This guy I know is gonna sell me an 80 for $1000 but i hate the tail lights and would rather have the back end from a 70-73.

the 78-81 camaro subframes are a little different then the 70-77 camaro subframes, im not sure how though. the 78-81 camaro fenders are different then the 70-77 fenders. the 70-73, 74-77, and 78-81 core supports are all different.

70-81 camaro hoods are exactly the same and so are the doors, to put the 71 front end you will have to put the 71 front clip (fenders, header panel, core support and valance) on the 78 camaro aswell as the 71 front subframe. its basically a bolt on swap unless the 78-81 subframes bolt on differently.

as for the tail light swap. 1978 camaros have a completely different back end then the 71 camaro. the rear quarters are different aswell as the rear body panel so inorder to switch the taillights you will have to replace the quarter panels, rear body panel, and probably the trunk pan with the earlier year style.

you said 70-74, did you mean 70-73?

someone I know put a 70 nose on a 78 Camaro and it didn't get a good reception. you see a nice car that you think is a real classic, coming at you, and then when it stop or drives by you see that it is just a regular 78 with a different nose and fenders. people just usually say "hmmm" and turn away shaking their heads.

the steel front bumper also looks totally out of place with a car that has a plastic rear
