need a little assistance
i dunno the brand of thermostat, maybe mr gasket or something, but yes i took off the backplate and the impeller is the correct one, i thought about it being an air bubble, but man, i dont see how its stuck in there!
i was reading through a tech magazine the other day and someone had the exact same issue with a jeep. it ran normal temps with a bad, worn out, leaking like hell water pump. they put a new pump on it and it ran hot constantly. they checked everything else out, even the head gaskets, and found nothing. they pulled the pump off and got a new one and laid them side by side to compare. turns out the one they were having issues with, the impeller wasnt pressed down far enough. 1/8" difference caused it to run 50 degrees too hot. and it was a large brand name pump (but didnt say who). it could still be the pump, did you swap it out?
thanks for everyones help, ended up being my intake gaskets were on backwards! wow, i must have been sleeping, it even says rear right on em lol, well i had the intake off in 56 minutes, and back together 2 hrs later, shes running good now, like 140 lol, now i can punch it finally!

remember a carpenter's rule: "measure twice, cut once"
the same holds for when re-assembling things. Sometimes it's best to walk away and then go back and re-check items before buttoning up.
yea, i was reading in motortrend or something that it happens to the best of even guys who have been doing this for 35+ years, funny because the new gaskets i got had the front and rear ports both open, but i will definatly be a little more cautious next time
