I am buying a 1992 Camaro RS. I am looking to replace the 305 thats in it with another 305 while I learn to rebuild the 350 that I have. The reason I am swapping out the 305's is the original has bad piston rings from what I was told. I have an oppertunity to buy another 305 at a reasonable price. It is out of a chevelle. The casting number is 14010202. What modifications would need to be done if any to drop the new one in? Thank you in advance for the help.

 

that sounds like a tremendous waste of time. Just do the top-end in it while its still in the car. If it just needs rings, why go through the hassle to put another motor in that you really don't know the history on?
