Default Lt1 heads

search but didnt find much, I found a set of lt1 aluminum heads for 80 bucks, but am wondering if they are compatible with older style 350's, and do they accept the older style carburated manifolds or do they need special ones? Thanks alot

Technically, the LT1 (Gen 2) heads would bolt up to the Gen 1 block. But the water passages are different, and the heads would require some plugging and machining to some of the existing passages to make it work. Then there's the intake manifold. A Gen 1 manifold won't bolt up to the LT1 heads without machine work. Or, the LT1 intake can be drilled and machined to accept a conventional distributor. It's a lot of work, and unless you own your own machine shop, you're going to spend more than a good set of aftermarket aluminum heads would cost.
