knocking noise when accelerating
ok, it could an engine ping from to much advance on the timing, it could be a spun rod bearing, it could be a valve tick, there are many possible things that could make noise. you need to tell us every detail like, when ideling what do you hear, when starting what do you hear, when drivinig what do you hear, and when you stomp on it what do you hear. go take it for a ride and tell us everything that happened when you drove it. just to be safe before you drive it, check the oil psi. if it is a bearing it could be your oil pump crapped out and the bearings were starved of oil.
I would suspect possibly water in the gas if it was sitting for that long.
This can happen pretty fast if it sat without a full tank, condensation happens in the tank and the water settles to the bottom then when you start driving some mixes with the gas and as we all know water does not burn well.
You might try adding a bottle of "heat" gas drier with a full tank of gas then go and drive around a while to see if it doesn't clear up.
