Ok I give up. Where in the heck is this fuel filter so I can replace it? I have a 1989 Iroc-Z with the 5.7 in it. Thanks for any help.

 

it should be under the car right infront of the rear tire on the driver side its between the front floor pan and the reartuck up in there

 

Figured it be in an area I didnt look. Thanks! I will check it out in the morning. Do you know if I will need to remove the splash guard or will it be in plain view from under the car?

Also... The Haynes manual states I need to de-pressurize the system. Is this true or just a safety thing that they are saying to cover their butt?

Unless you want to spray gas everywhere, (in your eyes, hint hint) you will want to, all you have to do is release the pressure from the schrader valve on the fuel rail.
