you can test the system, if your getting juice to the small wire at the starter when the key is turned to the start position then its working fine and its the starter or solonoid. i have a tuffstuff gear reduction starter in mine now and its still workin great. lighter and cost less than stock.

nice good call. just thinkin about it now, maybe could be my neutral safety swith. almost like it thinks its in gear an dont wanna start.either way i got a new performance racing starter and new neutral safety switch goin in this week. but my starter is screwed ha ha.it skips but jumps forward, regardless needs changing.

thanks, i was finishing off some tires, well,,, havin fun too, lol, they were just barely legal and here with all the rain, tires with shallow treads dont work to well. you may be right on the nutural switch, better get the tester back out.

nice man, ha. yeah I bought one, just getting shipped in. taking a bit longer than expected but once its here that new starter well work wonders. though this Monte wont do quite the smoke show you got goin on, but Ill be workin on that... possibly 350 w/high compression heads, basically the whole nine. the engine that SHOULD be in my car. the 267 will do for now though ha
