Default exaust

hi my name is Kevin I dont usually ask questions on here but I need some help. I have a 89 camaro with the 5.0 L in it and it has a exaust leak at the manifold i think that the bolt got loose but its one where I can not reach it because its the last one. closest to the firewall on the passenger side. my Question is do I have to pull the engine up a little or can I take the black box out to get to it. thanks for any help

I'm not too familiar with the third gen engine compartment, but you may want to jack it up and see if you can access it from the underside.

When I replaced my manifolds with headers on my 3rd generation I made it alot easier when I unbolted the motor and jacked it up a bit. If you do that you'll probally have a hell of alot easier time reaching that bolt.

You may end up finding that the bolt did not lossen but instead broke off. Look at your manifold closely also for some blackened areas. It may be broke. Maybe you just need to replace the muffler bearings.
