Default Chips?

I was looking through my year one catalog and noticed they have chips made by JET chips for the Cross Fire Injection and I was wondering if anyone had an idea of the power gain with one of these?

on these small cube motors it is absolutely impossible to gain 20rwhp from a box tune like a chip. They advertise these numbers all the time, but its just like the 16rwhp gain u get from an intake , yeah, if u had an otherwise full boltons and HCI setup with a stock intake and THEN swapped ud get that gain. Most often when a company is doing R&D on a product they test it on one of their already modified cars. The numbers are always inflated. U are really better off getting a custom chip burned

i'm gonna have headers, dual exhaust, vortec heads and intake manifold, so that should be enough to see a good gain from the chip right.

u may see a little. alot of guys do this, but the thing u have to rememberr ur tune consists of only timing and A/F. thats it. there isnt much power to be had here

or u may lose power. many chips will actually increase timing and increase fuel delivery. this sounds good, but if you start running rich u foul plugs, and you just dont make as good power as if ur fuel ratio was correct. also, with added timing, if the fuel you use doesnt burn slow enough (ie, premium) you will get detonation and lose power. there is also an optimum timing that you can only find on the dyno. do plenty of boltons, and even a cam or something and then take it a dyno shop and have it tuned professionally for the mods it has. this is the best use of ur money.

Specter is dead on. Expect to see 5-8 hp MAYBE. All piggy back style chips do is richen the fuel mixture and advance the timing. Honestly there are much better mods to be done than this.

yea i think what i am gonna do is change the heads, intake manifold, exhaust, and chage the cam and changing the cam suggest a chip so i will prolly take it to a dyno shop and have it tuned.

u have learned well young skywalker

Exactly what I would do, and ur going to be well faster than anyone who decided to do a chip.

story time:
ive got a friend with a 5.0 mustang, he had an HCI swap done untuned, we raced and it went like this
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...9d00180906.htm

he went and got it dyno tuned and had a custom chip burned for him and we went at it again, it went like this

70rwhp will do that for u too
