a/c line

Default a/c line

i have a 86 iroc, had original 5.0 tuned port, the owner said the people he purchased from put a 5.7 tuned port , my question is the a/c compressor is on the driver side, does this id it as being a 5.7, i remember my 5.0 compressor was passenger side any input is helpfullll

I orignally had a 305 TPI and can not recall which side the A/C was on. Check the picture of the 350TPI and it is on the drivers side.

my 86z28 was a tpi and it was on the passenger side. I dont think their is a big engine difference on the Iroc/Z28 that year. If they did an engine swap they could have put it on either side and just moved the hoses around depending on the bracket setup they used. For example when I did my engine swap I could have used my original bracket set or a set I had for a scottsdale which would have flipped everything around.

the only way you will know for sure is to look up the casting numbers.

Mine has a T.P.I 350 and the A/C is on the drivers side. but like adirtypoostick says if its not the original engine its anyones guess.
