Default bypass emissions?

my brother has a irock that when the new motor was put in it was all spliced and many problems, the previous owner hacked it all up and they disconnected the emissions, since they arent hooked up can i just put regular headers on the car and is there anything elses that will need to be done, we just want the 350 to run good with no extra crap to worry about

thanks

i have a 84 z28 that i put a 350 in.i did not hook up any emissions on the new motor.i went with a set of shorty hedman headers. the only the i had to modify is the y-pipe.the y-pipe had to be remade to work with headers even though they were "direct fit".the headers did not have the air lines or smog line on them.is you'r 350 tpi or carb and is the computer still hooked up? this will probaly made a difference on how much you can unhook or leave unhooked.

You might want to weld a bung into the headers so you can use the O2 sensor. You will need that if it still has its TPI. The air injection tubes you can do without as long as there is no inspection.
